New Years Eve

So it's New Years Eve, and it's time to put to rest the year of 2008.

The last few nights I have been catching up with old friends and chatting up with new, and it just reminds me of how much things can (and have!) changed.

I saw Bayside a few nights ago and I couldn't help but remember the first time I saw them when I was dating my ex Steve. Realistically, that was about 2 years ago, and it feels even longer than that. I am SUCH a different person now than I was when I was with him. I have grown so much as a person, and I can't really explain what exactly has grown in me, but I can just tell in the way I react to situations that I see things much differently now.

This year, I bought my first car- and then had to sell it back because it wouldn't start. Then, a very serious, very dramatic event with my sister and her ex-girlfriend allowed me to get my second car. Three weeks later, it was totaled in an accident. With that money, I bought my current car (a 2002 Hyundai Tiburon), and it's definately the best of the three, which I guess once again proves that everything happens for a reason.

In April, I got to meet my favorite musician, Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom. (A lot of people hate on Bodom for many reasons now, one of the most common ones being that they have become a mainstream metal band and no longer sound the same. Personally, I am proud of the Finns for reaching out to such a vast fanbase and am happy for all of their success.)
When I met him, he autographed my leg for me, and in true Audrey fashion, I got the signature tattooed on me. I love it because it was such a great moment meeting somebody that beautiful and talented, and now I can replay it everytime I look down at my leg.

From 2007-2008, I got to travel A LOT. In just one year I went to Washington D.C., Canada, Kansas City, Atlanta, and South Carolina. This might not seem like a lot to most people, but because I am poor as shit and not in a touring band, traveling like that is exciting.

I have no idea what is going on for New Years Eve tonight. I accidentally made plans with like 4 groups of people, and depending on this impending snow storm, have no idea where I'll end up tonight.

Hopefully, 2009 will be an exciting year. That's all I can really hope for at this point.

=)
